Using Downloadable Articles in your Course
If you are using a full text database to find articles for use in your course, you should never download an article from the vendor and put the full article online. Instead, you need to use a persistent URL, which almost all VCCS vendors support. The vendor can then take care of the hassle of getting necessary copyright permissions.
In order to provide off-campus access to an article, the URL has to include the proxy server information. To help with that, the VCCS has provided a tool that allows you to cup and paste in the persistent URL and will return a URL that includes the proxy server information.
