Distance Learning Services

Library Catalog - Our online catalog VCCSLinc is available to everyone both on and off-campus for searching for books, videos, and other resources in both the WCC Library and all of the other Virginia community colleges' libraries. A student ID is required to check materials out of the library.

Library Databases - Use the library’s databases to search for articles in magazines, journals, newspapers and to search reference sources like dictionaries and encyclopedias. Many full-text articles are available through the library databases. Students would use Off-Campus Access (see below) to access the databases.

Off-Campus Access - Currently enrolled students, and WCC faculty and staff can log in to the library’s databases from off-campus by using their user ID and password. Get complete instructions.

Guides and Tutorials - Use our research guides to assist you with the research and writing process, citing references and using the Internet more effectively.

Learn to Use the Library Online - Use the VCCS information literacy tutorial Connect for Success to learn about collections and services in our libraries and to learn how to find, evaluate, and use information effectively. Every WCC student is encouraged to work through this tutorial.

Contact Us - Contact us by telephone or email, or chat with a VCCS librarian to help identify relevant resources for your research.

Interlibrary Loan - Interlibrary loan services are available to currently enrolled students and faculty and staff. Books and periodical articles which are not available in the WCC Library may often be obtained through another library for students to use. Students may use their local library to request an interlibrary loan from WCC.
